Entry requirements:

The minimum age requirement is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

Progression:

The achievement of this qualification provides the candidate with the opportunity to progress to technical, supervisory and management qualifications and positions within their own organisations.

It also offers employment opportunities as individuals are demonstrating occupational competence.

Assessment:

Units must be assessed in a work environment.

Qualification overview

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision qualification has been developed for delivery in a Construction and Built Environment sector working environment; which means it cannot be achieved 'off-the-job'. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Occupational Work Supervision within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

The Assessments will cover key practical skills and knowledge in these 5 mandatory units:

  • Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area
  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships
  • Confirming the Occupational Method of Work
  • Implementing and Maintaining Health, Safety and Welfare
  • Co-ordinating and Organising Work Operations

The Assessments will also cover key practical skills and knowledge in two of the following optional units (2 Units required):

  • Allocating and Monitoring the Use of Plant, Machinery or Equipment
  • Monitoring Progress of work against schedules
  • Confirming Work Meets Quality Standards
  • Implementing Procedures to Support the Team's Performance
  • Co-ordinating and Confirming Dimensional Control Requirements of the Work
  • Contributing to the Circulation of Construction Related Project Information
